Join EChO – Eradicate Childhood Obesity Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity based in Cambridge, MA that is launching the first mobile app using augmented reality (AR) for better food labeling to help save 14 million children from obesity and its health consequences.
We are seeking several graduate or undergraduate interns to assist our foundation (created by a Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative fellow) to seek and write grants to fund our projects:
A new AR mobile application for food labels that will tell consumers in real time how much added sugar is in their foods and beverages.
A Sweet Fairy Tale musical composition musical to educate the public on the dangers of added sugar and promote good nutrition habits.
An Added Sugar Repository to better inform the public on the different names of added sugar used in the U. S. food industry.
Compensation Details: This is an unpaid/volunteer position. Hours are flexible and can be full-time or part-time, adapting to the candidate’s availability and class schedule, with a minimum of 12 hours per week for 12 weeks. It cannot be done remotely. Please indicate potential hours/days available when applying. Priority is given to full time interns.
We advise applicants to seek a grant or stipend directly from their schools or institutions that their school would suggest in order to get compensated for this internship, whenever possible.
Location: This position requires being physically located in the Boston/Cambridge area to attend EChO Team meetings at least once a week in Cambridge, Harvard square area – this internship cannot be done remotely.

Grant writing experience mandatory
Excellent writing and editing skills
Interest in public health, food, and nutrition
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proficient Internet research skills required
